Thing 18. My final blog!

ImageWhat was it like for me?

Well I did enjoy the whole experience and especally the protopage that was fun.

Looking back at my first blog I have noticed that I kept complaining about not having enough time.  The only task I do not enjoy so much was thing 6 browsers and internet explorers.  I found this one a bit boring, but apart from that all the other things were fun and I have learnt a lot from doing this challange.  I would like to thank everyone who was involved in running the 19 things it was fun and enjoyable and this is me signing off.  Good bye!  Image

Can you see the finishing line?

Well here we are at the end of 19 things and I must say it has been quite challenge over the few weeks

I have enjoyed exploring all the different websites and seach engines and I must say there are so many to choose from.

So looking back over the weeks tasks I have noticed that I commented on wordle, but I did not add it to my blog, so here goes.

Oh another thing I had a go at tagxedo too.

Bye for now

Thing 17 CiteULike

CiteULike or CiteUdon’t that is the question!

CiteULike is useful for research and if only I knew about CiteULike when I was doing my degree.  It would have saved time referencing everything.

I did manage to find some good articles in Pubmed and google scholar, which I have put into citeULike.   I have already had an account with Mendeley, which I did use for some of my papers and there again I have not used it for some time, but I know it is there if needed.  With all these websites it is good to know they are out there if needed.

One thing I would not do is put it on facebook I can not see what use that would be.   Only 2 more things to do now yeah!!!

What’s it all about, meet-o-matic?

Things 14 & 15

“” meet-o-matic.  The world’s simplest meeting scheduler”

How nice it is to have a easy task this week.

Meet-o-matic is very simple to use and could be useful for setting up meeting at work and you could use it at home as well for family get togethers.

I have added it to my widgets.  Yeah!!!

My Reflection

Image

Reflecting on how things are going I can not believe we are halfway there,  and now much fun it is when you how.

Still not really had much time exploring all I want too, but so far so good.  I did find the thing 12 a bit of challenge and it was good for my little grey cells.

I have attached my QR code here as I forgot too on the earlier blog,  I hope everyone else is enjoying this challenge as much as I am.

RSS feeds. Things 10 – 12

Image

My experience with RSS feeds was very limited.  I knew the concept of them, but never really looked at them.  This exercise was quite challenging, but after a few atempts at attaching RSS feeds.  I found it really good and how useful they are.  Especally when adding RSS feeds to NHS my library and doing a pubmed search alert to my library.

Oh what fun !!

What fun exploring new websites.

Just been looking at protopage and what you can do if you have time to play.  The trust’s who have used it look really good and professional much better than your bog standard webpages.

Finally just produced my own page on protopage.com

yeah

Eploring internet browsers

After surfing the different browsers.

For example internet explorer, firefox, chrome, and safari, I have come to the conclusion that when at work on the NHS computer firefox is best.

I am luckly to have safari at home and that is far better than any of the others.

it is much faster and easy to use.
